Excellent and fascinating device

I love the Powerball and keep playing with it daily.
This model is excellent to have at home because it is almost silent and the counter will keep your interest about how you are performing.
In the first attempts it may be hard to keep the ball spinning, but there is plenty information and videos online so be patient and spend some time to master this device. |
Great, but it'll end up gathering dust.

The powerball is everything they claim it is, and yes, I felt a noticeable improvement in muscle tone within days. It's easy to get used to, either challenging or relaxing depending on how you use it, and a great way of improving grip if you play golf.
The problem is in actually having the opportunity to use it. It is quite noisy as stated by other reviewers, it's not something you can carry about in a pocket, and as for using it in the street as someone said, you'll look like you have some sort of disability if you use this in public!
For me it's the breville sandwich toaster of fitness products; gets used for a while, then disappears into a drawer, never to be seen again. |
It works but you need patience and some skill

I love gadgets so bought my self a Powerball Neon White Pro with the excuse that it will help me to improve my wrist strength. After showing off my skills in "twirling" the powerball, now my kids want one too! But its not for everyone as my daughter (17) could do it but my son (14) couldn't.
What I like about it:
1) Fun to use. I like to see the light coming on and hear the sound of it when its spinning.
2) It does work. My arms feel sore after working on it for 1 min.
3) Require a bit of skill to master. You need to go with the "flow" or the device won't spin. I don't think that it will work very well for those who are stiff and akward. You need to be relaxed and "feel" the movement.
4) Can be used anytime/anywhere being so small and portable.
5) Can be used for showing off your skills. I still need to use the string to start it but am learning how to finger start it.
6) Ingenious invention.
7) You can challenge yourself to see if you can beat your own record (RPM), your own time etc.
It takes time to master the device, so have patience and persevere. The reward is worth the effort.

A strange piece of kit this. It spins while you hold it and move your wrist, and yet will give your hands and arms a workout.......hmm. Ok, I got one to give it a go.
What do you know! It works! I have not got it up to a hand numbing speed yet, but even at low revs and three minutes it tires my arms (could be unfit or lazy?).
Anyhow it has been sitting on my table looking at me for the past week, challenging me to use it again. So I'm gonna plan it in with my workouts to ensure that I get the best use out of a seemingly innocent object, that I believe will be very useful if used correctly.
Even if you do not have a workout plan (why don't you? Get off of Facebook and get training!) then you can still use the Powerball for a nice gentle workout.
Go on, give it a whirl. |
